January 2, 2003 (Updated January 10, 2008)

Northwest Aerospace Technologies (NAT) and Essex Electronics Inc., have entered into an exclusive development, marketing and distribution agreement covering all Essex products for aircraft applications.  This agreement appoints Essex to manufacture the Keypad component of an FAA/JAA certified cockpit door locking/control system.

Utilizing Essex piezoelectric Billion Cycle Switch Technology™,  over 5,000 keypads have been manufactured and installed on commercial aircraft fleets around the world.  These Keypads, along with NAT's Rapid Decompression Sensing System,  comply with the new FAA/JAA cockpit door security requirements.  In addition, the Essex Keypad has been installed on Cabin and Flight Crew Rest Compartments located in the cargo compartment on long-range aircraft.
